Radiator: Service and Repair
Radiator
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Refractometer (T10007)
• Torque Wrench (5-60 Nm) (V.A.G 1783)
• Drip Tray for VAS 6100 (VAS 6208)
Removing
- Move the lock carrier into the service position. Procedures
- Drain the coolant. Refer to => [ Draining and Filling ] Draining and Filling.
- Remove the upper coolant hose clamp and remove the coolant hose from the radiator quick-release coupling.
- Disconnect the connector for the fans.
- Remove the radiator bolts - item 10 - in => [ Cooling System Component Overview, Body Side ] Cooling System Component Overview, Body Side and remove the radiator upward with the fans.
Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal. When doing this note the following:
• Radiator bolt tightening specification, see - item 10 - in the => [ Cooling System Component Overview, Body Side ] Cooling System Component Overview, Body Side.
- Fill with coolant. Refer to => [ Draining and Filling ] Draining and Filling.
