Left Driver Side Trim without Storage Compartment

Removing

• For reasons of clarity, the steering wheel is not depicted in the illustration, it is not necessary to remove it.

- Switch off the ignition.

- Remove side instrument panel cover on driver side => [ Instrument Panel Side Covers ] Instrument Panel Side Covers.

- Press rotary light switch toward front, rotate it toward right until it stands vertically, now pull it out and disconnect wiring harness.

- Remove steering column trim gap cover from instrument panel => [ Steering Column Trim ] Steering Column Trim. It is not necessary to remove the complete steering column trim.

Jetta from MY 2010 and Golf Wagon from MY 2010

- Remove the instrument cluster.

All vehicles

- Remove the two bolts - 1 - (1.5 Nm).

- Remove the two bolts - 2 - (1.5 Nm).

- Disengage trim panel - 3 - from instrument panel and disconnect wiring harness from headlamp range control.






Installing

- Install in reverse order of removal.

• When installing, bolts must be installed in the sequence - 1 - and then - 2 - (1.5 Nm).
