Cylinder Head Cover






Cylinder Head Cover

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Spring Type Clip Pliers (VAS 5024 A)

Ignition Coil Puller (T40039)

Removing

- Remove the engine cover with air filter. Refer to => [ Engine Cover with Air Filter ] Engine Cover With Air Filter.

- Remove the bolts - arrows -.






- Remover the ignition coils with the power output stage. Refer to => [ Ignition Coils with Power Output Stages ] Service and Repair.

- Disconnect the lines - 2, 3 and 4 - from the cylinder head cover.






- Disconnect the crankcase vent tube and remove the turbocharger heat shield bolts - 1 -.






- Disconnect the vent hose - 2 - from the cylinder head cover to the turbocharger.

- Loosen the cylinder head cover bolt working from the outside towards the inside.

- Remove the cylinder head cover.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Replace the seals and the cylinder head cover gasket if they are damaged.

- Tighten the cylinder head cover bolts in multiple steps and in the sequence shown.






- Make sure the upper toothed belt guard is installed correctly.

Tightening Specifications
