Resetting & Extracting Tool (T10165)

Trim Removal Wedge (3409)

Removing


Adjust the brake piston is permitted only with the resetting and extracting tool (T10165).

- Remove the piston from the brake caliper by turning the thumb wheel on the resetting & extracting tool (T10165) toward the left.

Install the resetting and extracting tool (T10165) so that the collar touches the piston.






For pistons that are difficult to move, an open end wrench (13 mm) can be applied at the appropriate wrench surface - arrow A -.

- Remove the seal using the trim removal wedge (3409).






Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- The surface of the piston and seal must only be cleaned with mineral spirits and then dried.

- Coat the piston and seal lightly with lithium grease (G 052 150 A2) before installing.

- Place the cap with the outer sealing lip on the piston.






- Using the trim removal wedge (3409) , insert the inner sealing lip into the cylinder groove.






Hold the piston in front of the brake caliper for this procedure.

- Turn the thumb wheel on the resetting and extracting tool (T10165) to the right and install the piston. Be careful not to damage the cap.






- Use the component part of T10165 tool (T10165/1) to help you bolt it on.

Install the resetting and extracting tool (T10165) so that the collar on the component part of T10165 tool (T10165/1) is touching.
