Exterior Mirror Entry Lamps (W52)/(W53)

The driver entry lamp in exterior rearview mirror or front passenger entry lamp in exterior rearview mirror is installed in the housing of the left/right exterior rearview mirror.

• Removing and installing driver's side lamp and passenger's side lamp is performed in the same manner on both sides and is only described for one side.

• The function of the entry lamp in exterior rearview mirror can be checked via the output diagnostic test mode of the particular door control module.

Removal

- Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers and remove the ignition key.

• During removal and installation, leave the ignition key in the passenger compartment of the vehicle to prevent locking of the doors and automatic activation of the "Coming Home/Leaving Home" functions if applicable.

- Remove the mirror housing.

- Pull the entry lamp in exterior rearview mirror - 1 - out of the lower part of the mirror housing.






- Remove the entry lamp in exterior rearview mirror - 1 - in the - direction of the arrow - from the lamp socket - 2 -.

Installation

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

• After installation, perform a function check of the exterior rearview mirror.
