Outer Headlamp Mounting Tab, Repairing

• Headlamps with halogen bulbs are bolted to the body at 3 points while headlamps with HID lamps and a cornering lamp are bolted at 4 points.

• The outer repair tab from the repair kit is only used in headlamps with HID lamps.

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Screwdriver (V.A.G 1624)

- Switch off the ignition and all electrical consumers and remove the ignition key.

- Remove headlamp. Refer to=> [ Headlamps ] Headlamps.

- Remove the rest of the old headlamp mounting tab - 1 - as illustrated.






- Flush-mount the new mounting tab - 2 - on the socket on the headlamp and tighten the mounting bolts - 3 - to 1.0 Nm.

- Install the headlamp. Refer to=> [ Headlamps ] Headlamps.

• If one headlamp is removed, it must always be adjusted after installation.

- Check the headlamp adjustment and correct it if necessary.
