First preload the spring far enough so that the tension is relieved on the upper spring plate!
- Make sure the coil spring fits correctly inside the spring holder (V.A.G 1752/4) - arrows -.
- Remove the nut from the shock absorber.
- Remove the individual components of the strut and coil spring using the spring compressor (V.A.G 1752/1).
Installing
- Install the coil spring on the lower spring plate using the spring compressor (V.A.G 1752/1).
The end of the spring coil must rest against the stop - arrow -.
- Tighten the new hex nut onto the shock absorber.
- Relieve the tension on the spring compressor (V.A.G 1752/1) and remove it from the coil spring.
