Oil Pump

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Assembly Tool (T10118)

Locking Tool (T40265)

Removing

- Remove the lower oil pan. Refer to => [ Lower Oil Pan ] Lower Oil Pan.

- Remove the oil baffle bolts - arrows - and baffle.






- Pull the chain tensioner spring using the assembly tool (T10118) in the - direction of the arrow - and secure it using the locking tool (T40265).






- Remove the oil pump bolts - arrows - and remove the oil pump.






Installing

- Make sure both alignment sleeves for centering the oil pump are in there.

- Check the strainer in the oil suction pipe and the oil passages in the upper oil pan for contamination before installing the oil pump.

- Install the sprocket for the oil pump and then install the oil pump.

Danger of causing damage to the engine.

The following procedure must be observed otherwise the chain tensioner spring does not spring into the installed position:

- Pull the chain tensioner spring using the assembly tool (T10118) in the - direction of the arrow - and remove the locking tool (T40265).






- Replace the oil baffle.

- Insert the new oil baffle and secure it.

The rest of the installation is performed in the reverse order of removal, noting the following:

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Oil Pan/Oil Pump Overview ] Oil Pan/Oil Pump Overview.

There are plastic ribs on the oil baffle that deform permanently when tightening. The plastic ribs ensure the oil baffle is not loosened and does not rattle. Because of this, always replace the oil baffle.
