Heating and A/C Unit

• Remove the heating and A/C unit. Refer to => [ Heating and A/C Unit ] Removal and Replacement.

• Heating and A/C Unit attachments, removed, refer to => [ Heating and A/C Unit Attachments Overview ] Heating and A/C Unit Attachments Overview.

• Air guide channel, disassembling and assembling, refer to => [ Air Guide Channel ] Overhaul.






1 Screw

• Tightening specification: 2 Nm

• Coolant line bolts - 25 -.

• Slightly move the coolant lines by loosening the bolts.

2 Bracket

• Coolant pipe brackets.

• Included with coolant pipe replacement part.

3 Seal With Foam Piece Spacer

• Seal between the bulkhead and the heater and A/C unit.

• Insert before installing A/C unit into vehicle bulkhead.

4 Coolant Lines

• Supply and return with mount - 2 -, replaceable part.

• Disconnect and connect from heater core. Refer to => [ Heater Core ] Service and Repair.

5 Screws

• Tightening specification 1.5 Nm

6 Air Guide Channel Heater and A/C Unit

• Disassembling and assembling, refer to => [ Air Guide Channel ] Overhaul.

7 Dust and Pollen Filter

• With activated charcoal insert

• Dust and pollen filter with activated charcoal insert, refer to=> [ Dust and Pollen Filter with Activated Charcoal Insert ] Description and Operation.

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Dust and Pollen Filter ] Service and Repair.

8 Air Distribution Housing For Heater

• Do not disassemble further.

• In vehicles without auxiliary air heater heating element (Z35) , the cover for heater core seals the opening for auxiliary air heater heating element.

• If necessary, coat bearing areas and guides of temperature doors thinly with grease (for example, with G 052 745 A3 ).

9 Air Guide Channel

• Air guide channel to front right footwell vent

• Right rear footwell vent air guide channel

10 Screws

• Tightening specification 1.5 Nm

• Air guide channel bolts

11 Cover For Dust and Pollen Filter

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Dust and Pollen Filter ] Service and Repair.

12 Sealing Caps

• Only for vehicles without air duct/air vent installed in the rear center console.

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Heater and A/C Unit Closure Cap ] Heater and A/C Unit Closure Cap.

13 Air Guide Channel

• Air guide channel to left front footwell vent.

• Left rear footwell vent air guide channel.

14 Heater Core

• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Heater Core ] Service and Repair.

• After replacing heater core, replace all the coolant.

15 Seal

• Quantity: 2

• Between the coolant lines and the heater core.

• Always replace.

• Pay attention to different versions.

• Lubricate lightly with coolant before installation.

16 Hose Clamp

• Tightening specification: 2 Nm

• Quantity: 2

• Ensure firm attachment.

• For vehicles with heating, ventilation and air conditioning installed.
