Blower Motor: Service and Repair
Fresh Air Blower (V2)
The fan wheel can become deformed.
Setting the fresh air blower down incorrectly causes the fan wheel to become unbalanced.
Set the fresh air blower down so that the fan wheel is free.
Removing
- Remove the plastic screws - 2 - and the front passenger side footwell trim panel- 1 -.
Front passenger side footwell trim panel
- Remove the glove compartment. Refer to Storage Compartments, Covers and Trim.
Vehicles with manual climate control system
- Remove the footwell vent on the front passenger side. Refer to => [ Footwell Vent, Front Passenger Side ] Footwell Vent, Front Passenger Side.
- Disconnect harness connector - 1 - from fresh air blower - 2 -.
- Release the retainer - arrow A - and turn the fresh air blower - 2 - in the - direction of the arrow B -. Release the retainers - 3 - by turning them.
- Remove the fresh air blower from the heater and A/C unit - 4 -.
Vehicles with electrically controlled A/C System
- Remove the footwell vent on the front passenger side. Refer to => [ Footwell Vent, Front Passenger Side ] Footwell Vent, Front Passenger Side.
- Disconnect harness connector - 2 - from fresh air blower - 1 -.
- Release retainer- arrow A - and turn the fresh air blower with the fresh air blower control module (J126) - 1 - in the - direction of the arrow B -. Release the retainers - 3 - by turning them.
- Remove the fresh air blower and the fresh air blower control module from the heater and A/C unit - 4 -.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal. Make sure the wiring routing for the wiring harness is correctly connected to the fresh air blower.
- Install the footwell vent on the front passenger side. Refer to => [ Footwell Vent, Front Passenger Side ] Footwell Vent, Front Passenger Side.
- Install the glove compartment. Refer to Storage Compartments, Covers and Trim.
- Install the footwell trim panel for the front passenger side.
