Alarm Horn: Service and Repair

Alarm Horn (H12)

The alarm horn is located inside the plenum chamber on the right side next to the wiper unit.

To remove the alarm horn, the anti-theft alarm system must be deactivated. Refer to => [ Anti-Theft Alarm System, Activating/Deactivating ] Anti-Theft Alarm System.

• Turn off the ignition and all electrical consumers.

• Remove the key.

Removing

- Deactivate the anti-theft alarm system. Refer to => [ Anti-Theft Alarm System, Activating/Deactivating ] Anti-Theft Alarm System.

- Remove the plenum chamber cover.

- Disconnect the connector - 2 -.






- Remove the nut - 3 - and remove the alarm horn - 1 - from the plenum chamber.






Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Nut tightening specification: 10 Nm

Checking the alarm horn

The alarm horn function can be checked using vehicle electrical system control module (J519) output diagnostic test. Refer to => [ Vehicle Electrical System Control Module (J519), Output Diagnostic Test Mode (D) ] Vehicle Electrical System Control Module (J519), Output Diagnostic Test Mode (D).
