Engine and Transmission Mount, Adjusting






Engine and Transmission Mount, Adjusting

- Support the engine and transmission but do not lift it. Refer to => [ Engine, Holding in its Installed Position ] Engine, Holding in its Installed Position.

- Replace the engine mount to engine mount bracket bolts - arrows - one after the other (if this was not already performed when the engine was installed) and tighten them by hand.






with a Manual Transmission






- Replace the transmission mount to transmission mount bracket bolts - arrows - one after the other (if this was not already performed when the engine was installed) and tighten them hand tight.

with a Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG(R))






- Replace the transmission mount to transmission mount bracket bolts - arrows - one after the other (if this was not already performed when the engine was installed) and tighten them hand tight.

Continuation for All

- Loosen the engine and transmission mount to bracket bolts approximately 2 turns.

There must be a clearance of 10 mm - a - between the engine mount bracket - 2 - and right longitudinal member.






The casting edge on the engine mount bracket - 2 - must be parallel to the engine mount support arm - 1 -, dimension - x - must be the same at the front and at the rear.

with a Manual Transmission






- The edges on the transmission mount bracket - 1 - and transmission mount support arm - 2 - are parallel on the transmission side.

Dimension - x - is the same size on both sides of the support arm.

with a DSG(R)






- The edges on the transmission mount support arm - 1 - and transmission mount - 2 - are parallel on the transmission side.

Dimension - x - is the same size on both sides of the support arm.

Continuation for All

- Tighten the engine and transmission mount to bracket mount bolts. Refer to => [ Engine and Transmission Mount Overview ] Engine and Transmission Mount Overview.

Further installation is in the reverse order of removal.
