Front Suspension
Pressure-Holding Valve
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)
• Vehicle Diagnostic Tester (VAS 5051B)
• The pressure-holding valve is maintenance-free and may only be replaced in the case of a noticeable leak.
• With the air spring shock absorber removed, no additional preparation is needed for replacing the pressure-holding valve.
• The vehicle must be on a lifting platform to replace the pressure-holding valve. The vehicle wheels must rotate freely.
• When removing the air line, there is the possibility that the pressure-holding valve will also be removed.
• If the vehicle is not raised with a lifting platform, the vehicle sinks immediately on the side on which the pressure-holding valve is removed. There is a strong risk of injury because the arms can be clamped.
• The vehicle must remain on the lifting platform until a new pressure-holding valve is installed and the air spring shock absorber is refilled.
Removing

- Clean the pressure-holding valve area.
- Unscrew the air line from the pressure-holding valve - 1 -.
