Evacuating and Charging Valve, Low and High Pressure Side

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Robinair A/C Service Unit (ROB 134APF)

Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1783) (2 to 10 Nm)

1/4" Ratchet Insert (VAS 6234)

Socket for A/C Valves (T10364)

Hybrid vehicles have a high voltage system. Danger of electrical shock! It will also be necessary to work on the high voltage system when performing the following procedures. Switch off the high voltage system.

Removal

Extract the refrigerant using the (ROB 134APF).

- Remove the cap - 3 -.






Danger due to refrigerant coming out under pressure.

Danger of frost bite to skin and other parts of the body.

Extract the refrigerant and immediately open the refrigerant circuit after that.

If the refrigerant was extracted more than 10 minutes in the past and the refrigerant circuit was not opened, extract the refrigerant again. Pressure in the refrigerant circuit is caused by evaporation.

- Extract the refrigerant using, for example Robinair A/C Service Unit (ROB 134APF).

- Remove the valve insert - 2 - (2 +/- 0.2 Nm) from the refrigerant pipe with the proper adapter - 4 -.

Installation

- Install in reverse order of removal.
