Automatic Transmission Fluid, Bleeding
Automatic Transmission Fluid, Bleeding
- Check and correct the Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) level as described in => [ Automatic Transmission Fluid Level, Checking and Filling ] Automatic Transmission Fluid Level, Checking and Filling.
CAUTION!
Wear protective glasses.
- Perform a road test. ATF temperature must reach at least 100 °C (212 °F) to vent the ATF circuit.
When the air leaves the ATF circuit, the ATF level in the transmission decreases. Therefore, the ATF level must be checked again later after the fluid cools.
- Cool the ATF below 30 °C (86 °F).
- Check the ATF level again, refer to => [ Automatic Transmission Fluid Level, Checking and Filling ] Automatic Transmission Fluid Level, Checking and Filling.
