Fuel Supply Line: Service and Repair






High Pressure Fuel Lines, Installing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque Wrench (5-50 Nm) (V.A.G 1331)

Ratchet, Reversible (V.A.G 1331/1)

Socket 14 mm (3150)

Tool Insert AF 19 (V.A.G 1331/5)

Socket (T40055)

Procedure

When reusing the high pressure line, pay attention to the cylinder allocation.

The high pressure lines can be reused only after the following checks:

Check the sealing cone on each high pressure line for deformation and cracks.

The bores for the lines must not be deformed, narrowed or damaged.

Do not use corroded lines again.

- Remove any dirt from the sealing cone on the rail.

- Clean the fuel line and line connection with detergent and dry it with compressed air.

- Lubricate the threads on the union fitting with fuel.

- Tighten the high pressure line union fittings by hand, making sure they are seated without tension.

Tightening specification: 28 Nm

- To tighten the high pressure lines, use the following tools depending on the width across the flats:

Tightening the High Pressure Line to the Fuel Injector using a 17 mm Wrench





Tightening the High Pressure Line to the Fuel Rail using a 19 mm Wrench
