Tail Lamps, Rear Lid

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1783)

• The following illustrations show the removing and installing of the left tail amps in the rear lid. Removing and installing the right tail lamps in the rear lid is identical.

Removing

- Turn off the ignition and all electric consumers and remove the key.

- Unclip cover - 1 - in direction of - arrow - from panel.






- Disconnect the connector - 1 -.






- Remove the mounting screws - 2 - and - 3 - and remove the tail lamp from the rear lid.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

• When mounting the tail lamp harness connector into the rear lid, it must "audibly" latch.

- Insert the tail lamp into the cut-out in the body and position it in the middle.

- First tighten the top mounting nut - 2 - and then the bottom mounting nut - 3 - to the tightening specification shown in => [ Tail Lamps, Rear Lid Overview ] Tail Lamps, Rear Lid Overview.






- Check the gap dimension to the body after installing the tail lamp assembly.
