Power Convertible Top, Opening

• Observe safety precautions when handling the electric convertible top:

• Before opening or closing convertible top, make sure that there is sufficient clearance above the convertible top.

Safety precautions for handling the electric convertible top

CAUTION!
• For safety reasons, convertible top must only be opened or closed when vehicle is standing still.

• If opening or closing procedure is interrupted, the convertible top may spring and thus be lowered.

• Never drive the vehicle if convertible top has not been opened or closed correctly.

• Do not attempt to close convertible top when anti-roll protection is deployed.

CAUTION!
• When opening or closing convertible top, make sure that no persons are injured by the convertible top, convertible top linkage or by both moving covers at rear side windows.

• Do not open or close convertible top while vehicle stands on lifting platform, on curb on one side or on vehicle jack.

- Apply hand brake.

- Automatic transmission: selector lever in "P" or " N" position.

- Manual transmission: shift lever in idle position.

- Switch on ignition and leave it switched on during opening procedure.

- Press closing button - 1 - and fold down closing handle - 2 -.





- Rotate closing handle in direction of arrow until it stops and press it slightly upward to release the convertible top.





• If closing is released, all windows lower slightly and both covers at rear side windows open. In addition, convertible top indicator light lights up.

- Fold back closing handle - 2 - into recess.





- Press convertible top switch in center console upward and hold until convertible top has opened halfway.

Convertible Top Protective Cover, Removing

- Open Velcro connections of both tension straps.

- Pull both tension straps out of intermediate piece of convertible top material - arrows -.





- Disengage the 4 retaining profiles on convertible top material - arrows - on the respective side.





- Open rear lid.

- Disengage retaining rubbers from rear lid stops - arrow -.





- Remove convertible top protective foil.
