Removal and Replacement






Lock Carrier Assembly Overview





1 Lock Carrier

Removing:

- Remove front part. Refer to=> [ Front Part Assembly Overview ] Front Part Assembly Overview.

- Disengage hood release cable at lock and disconnect electrical harness connectors.

- Remove bolts - 3 - and - 4 - and remove bumper carrier - 5 -

- Unscrew radiator and condenser from lock carrier.

- Secure radiator and condenser in engine compartment.

Do not disengage condenser at lines.

Condenser lines must not be kinked.

- Remove bolts - 11 -.

- Remove lock carrier with connecting plate and lock.

Installing:

- Center lock carrier at longitudinal members.

- Adjust headlamps.

5 Bumper Carrier

With insulation

6 Pop Rivet

7 Insulation

Bonded using butyl adhesive sealing cord (AKL 450 005 05)

8 Connecting Plate

Secured to lock carrier using pop rivet

9 Internally Threaded Pop Rivet

10 Hood Lock

Removing and installing, refer to=> [ Hood Lock ] Hood

11 Bolt

20 Nm

12 Self-Locking Hex Bolt

12 Nm

When reusing: Clean bolt thread using wire brush and nut thread using tap, coat bolt with locking compound (D 185 400 A2)

13 Radiator and Condenser

16 Nut (USA)
