Rear Lid

Removing






- Remove the rear lid trim panel.

- Remove the window frame trim panel.

- Disconnect harness connectors of installed electrical components.

- Loosen the left and right bellows - 4 - and guide the wires - 1 - through the opening and out of the rear lid.

- Loosen hex nuts - 5 - on the left and right hinges - 3 - but do not remove the nuts.

A second mechanic is required for the rest of the removal procedure.

- Remove the gas-filled strut - 2 -. Refer to => [ Gas-filled Strut ] Gas-filled Strut.

- Remove the bolts - 5 - and the rear lid.

Installation






Installing the rear lid - 1 - is the same as removal, but in reverse order.

- Tightening specification for bolts - 5 -: 10 Nm.

- Adjust the rear lid. Refer to => [ Rear Lid, Adjusting ] Rear Lid, Adjusting

• Perform a function test on the unlocking components before closing the rear lid.
