Clutch Release Bearing: Description and Operation
Clutch Release Mechanism Overview
1 Transmission
2 Ball Stud
• 25 Nm
• For removal and installation, the transmission must be removed.
• Remove any grease from the clutch release lever contact surfaces.
• Lubricate using grease for clutch plate splines (G 000 100).
3 Input Shaft Seal
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Input Shaft Seal ] 0A4 Transmission.
4 Guide Sleeve
• For removal and installation, the transmission must be removed.
• With a vulcanized O-ring.
• If the O-ring is damaged, then replace the guide sleeve and the O-ring.
5 Spring
• For removal and installation, the transmission must be removed.
• Attached to the clutch release lever.
6 Bolt
• 20 Nm
7 Clutch Release Lever
• For removal and installation, the transmission must be removed.
• Remove and install together with the release bearing. Refer to => [ Release Bearing, Removing and Installing ] Service and Repair.
• remove grease already present
8 Release Bearing
• For removal and installation, the transmission must be removed.
• Do not wash the bearing, just wipe it off.
• Replace loud bearings.
• Removing from and installing to, the clutch release lever. Refer to => [ Release Bearing, Removing and Installing ] Service and Repair.
• Lubricate the release lever contact surface with MoS 2 grease.
9 Bolt
• 20 Nm
10 Clutch Slave Cylinder
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Slave Cylinder ] Service and Repair.
11 Plunger
12 Assembly Bolt
• Secures the clutch release lever when installing the transmission.
• Remove after installing the transmission.
• Use an M6 x 35 bolt if the assembly bolt is missing.
