Hood Latch

Removing






- Open the hood.

- Remove radiator grille. Refer to => [ Radiator Grille ] Service and Repair.

- Hood release, disconnecting, refer to => [ Hood Release, Disconnecting ] Hood Release, Disconnecting.

- Disconnect the connector for the hood contact switch - 6 -.

• Harness connector is secured over right headlamp.

- Remove the screws - 4 and 5 - on the lock carrier - 6 - and remove the hood latch - 1 - - arrow a -.

- To unclip the mount - 3 - press the retaining strap on the mount together - arrows b -.

- The retainer will then be loosened and the release cable - 2 - can then be removed from the hood latch - 1 -.

Installation






- Install the mount - 3 - in the hood latch - 1 -.

- Install the hood latch - 1 - in the lock carrier - 6 -.

- Screw - 4 and 5 - tightening specification: 12 Nm.

- Connect the hood contact switch connector - 6 -.

- Install the release cable - 2 - to the cable coupling. Refer to => [ Hood Release, Disconnecting ] Hood Release, Disconnecting.

- Adjust lid lock, refer to => [ Hood Latch, Adjusting ] Adjustments.

• Before closing the hood, test the function of the control lever and release cable.
