Stabilizer Bar






Stabilizer Bar

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque wrench (V.A.G 1331)

Removing

The following work steps are described for the left side of the vehicle. These work steps also apply simultaneously for right side of vehicle.

- Remove the nut - 1 - and pull coupling rod - 2 - out of stabilizer.






Do not loosen bolt - arrow - on tie rod - 3 - on right side of vehicle.

- Remove bolts - arrows - for stabilizer clamp.






- Thread stabilizer bar toward left out of subframe.

When threading out stabilizer bar, ensure subframe surface is not damaged. Correct any possible paint damage.

Installing

- Thread stabilizer bar from left side out into subframe.

When threading in stabilizer bar, ensure subframe surface is not damaged. Correct any possible paint damage.

- Tighten the bolts - arrows - for stabilizer clamp uniformly.






- Install the coupling rod - 2 - in the stabilizer bar and tighten the nut - 1 -.
