Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque wrench 5 to 50 Nm (V.A.G 1331)

Removing






- Remove the rear lid trim panel..

- Remove the left luggage compartment trim panel..

- Disconnect the connectors - 4 - from any electrical components.

- Loosen but do not remove the bolts - 3 - at the left and right hinges - 2 -.

A second technician is required for the rest of the removal procedure.

- Only remove the bolts - 3 -.

- Remove the wires - 5 - through the left hinge - 2 - of the rear lid - 1 -.

Installation






Install the rear lid - 1 - in reverse order of removal.

- Tightening specifications for bolts - 3 -: 24 Nm.

- Adjust the rear lid - 1 -.

• Before the rear lid - 1 - is closed, perform a function test on the unlocking components.
