Wiper Frame with Linkage and Windshield Wiper Motor (V), Removing
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331/)
• If during a repair a windshield wiper linkage with part number 7L0.955.601.B/ 602.B or higher is installed on a Touareg through MY 2007 (CW 22/07), the plenum chamber cover must also be replaced. Use plenum chamber cover 7L6.819.401.K 9B9, one a cover with a higher index number.
• When connecting battery, always perform work procedure as described in repair manual. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting. Not adhering to sequence will result in the deactivation of Main Battery Switch -E74- and subsequent damage to electrical system components.
• Observe notes for threaded connections of battery terminals. Refer to => [ Battery Post/Terminal ] Battery Post/Terminal.
- Disconnect the battery, refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.
- Remove driver side wiper arm, refer to=> [ Driver Side Wiper Arm, Removing ] Driver Side Wiper Arm, Removing
- Remove passenger side wiper arm, refer to=> [ Passenger Side Wiper Arm, Removing ] Passenger Side Wiper Arm, Removing
- Remove plenum chamber cover, refer to=> [ Plenum Chamber Cover, Removing ] Plenum Chamber Cover, Removing.
- Remove the hex socket head bolt - 1 -.
- Remove the bolts - 1 -.
- Unclip wire retainer - 1 - from wiper frame.
- Disconnect connector at Windshield Wiper Motor (V).
• Connector catches may be destroyed.
• Connector catches must not be loosened by force.
- Remove the M6 hex socket bolts - 2 - and the washers below them.
- Remove the wiper frame with linkage upward from the vehicle.
• If Wiper motor control module (J400) or Windshield Wiper Motor (V) is replaced, Wiper motor control module must be coded. Refer to => [ Wiper Motor Control Module, Coding ] Testing and Inspection.
