Selector Mechanism Assembly Overview
CAUTION!
Shift the selector lever into the "P" position and press the foot operated parking brake before working with the engine running.
1 Selector Lever Handle
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Selector Lever Handle ] Selector Lever Handle.
2 Clip

4 Emblem
• Self-adhesive.
5 Sleeve
6 Cover
• With selector indicator.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Selector Mechanism Cover ] Selector Mechanism Cover.
7 Printed Circuit Board
• With the Tiptronic switch (F189).
8 Cover Strip/Frame
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Cover Strip/Frame ] Cover Strip/Frame.
• Be careful of the Tiptronic switch signal magnet in the cover strip. Refer to => [ Tiptronic Switch Signal Magnet ] Tiptronic Switch Signal Magnet.
9 Wire
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Selector Lever Park Position Lock Switch ] Selector Lever Park Position Lock Switch.
10 Shift Lock Solenoid (N110)
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Shift Lock Solenoid ] Service and Repair.
11 Selector Lever Park Position Solenoid (N380)
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Selector Lever Park Position Solenoid ] Selector Lever Park Position Solenoid.
12 Bolt
• 20 Nm
• Quantity: 4

15 Selector Mechanism
• With the shift lock solenoid and selector lever park position solenoid.
• Release the selector lever in the case of power outage (emergency release). Refer to => [ Selector Lever Emergency Release ] Description and Operation.
• Can be removed upward.
16 Bolt
• Adjusting, refer to => [ Adjusting ] Adjustments.
17 Mounting Bracket/Cover
• Can only be removed downward.
18 Retaining Washer
• Always replace.
19 Selector Lever Cable
• Is removed together with the selector mechanism - item 15 -.
• Adjusting, refer to => [ Adjusting ] Adjustments.
20 Retaining Washer
• Always replace.
21 Mounting Bracket
• For the selector lever cable to the transmission.
• When tightening, ensure the bracket does not distort.
22 Bolt
• M6 - 10 Nm
• M8 - 23 Nm
• Self locking
• Always replace
• Allocation, refer to the parts catalog.
• The threaded holes for the bolts in the transmission must always be cleaned. (for example, with a thread tap).
