Separable Stabilizer Bar Assembly Overview
1 Separable Stabilizer Bar
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Separable Stabilizer Bar ] Rear Suspension.
• Bleeding, refer to => [ Separable Stabilizer Bar, Bleeding ] Separable Stabilizer Bar, Bleeding.
2 Bleeder Nipple
• 5 Nm
3 Dust Cap
4 Hydraulic Line
• Tighten to 40 Nm at the stabilizer bar.
• When pressure is built up in this line, coupling disc in stabilizer bar opens.
• Counterhold at hex of union nut using open-end wrench when loosening connection.
5 Hydraulic Line
• Tighten to 20 Nm at the stabilizer bar.
• When pressure is built up in this line, coupling disc in stabilizer bar closes.
• Counterhold at hex of union nut using open-end wrench when loosening connection.
6 Bracket
• Secure to stabilizer bar using clamp.
7 Stabilizer Bar Mount
Installation position:
• Mark on stabilizer bar before removing.
• Large outer diameter must point outward.
8 Stabilizer Bar Mount
Installation position:
• Mark on stabilizer bar before removing.
• Large outer diameter must point outward.
9 Clamp
• Installation position.
10 Rear Axle Stabilizer Decoupling Sensor (G485)
• Can be tested in "guided fault finding" using the Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051).
11 Bolt
• 3 Nm
12 Seal
• Always replace after removal.
Installation Position of Clamp for Mounting of Hydraulic Lines at Separable Stabilizer Bar
• Clamp fastener - 1 - must be beneath bracket - 2 -. From this it follows that the clamp is tightened from below.
• Clamp must directly make contact at bracket - 2 - - arrow -.
