Driver and Passenger Side Airbag

• Removal and installation is described for the left-hand side of the vehicle. Removal and installation for the right-hand side is performed in the same manner.

Removing

CAUTION!
Read the Safety Instructions for working with airbags, belt tensioners and battery cut-out units. Refer to => [ Airbag, Belt Tensioner and Battery Cut-Out Units, General Safety Precautions ] Airbag, Belt Tensioner and Battery Cut-Out Units, General Safety Precautions.

- Remove belt anchor. Refer to => [ Belt Anchor ] Belt Anchor.

- Remove 12-way seat. Refer to => [ 12-way Seat ] 12-way Seat.

- Remove backrest hinge trim for 12-way seat. Refer to => [ 12-way Seat Backrest Hinge Trim ] 12-way Seat Backrest Hinge Trim.

- Remove trim for 12-way seat. Refer to => [ 12-way Seat Trim ] 12-way Seat Trim.

- Remove backrest for 12-way seat. Refer to => [ 12-way Seat Backrest ] 12-way Seat Backrest.

- Remove the 12-way front seat cover and padding. Refer to => [ 12-way Front Seat Backrest Cover and Upholstery ] 12-way Front Seat Backrest Cover and Upholstery.

- Separate wiring harness - 1 - from backrest frame.

- Remove the bolts - 21 - and - 3 - (4.5 Nm).

- Remove side airbag - 4 - from mounting in backrest frame.





Installation

- To install, perform the steps used for removal in reverse order.
