Windshield Wiper Blades, Adjusting Park Position

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

- Deactivate APP function. Refer to => [ Wiper Motor, Deactivating Alternating Park Position (APP) Function, Through 05.09 ] Wiper Motor, Deactivating Alternating Park Position (APP) Function, Through 05.09 or => [ Wiper Motor, Deactivating Alternating Park Position (APP) Function, From 06.09 ] Wiper Motor, Deactivating Alternating Park Position (APP) Function, From 06.09 if not already done by this time.

- Let wiper run into rest position and then switch off ignition.

- Now set the park positions of the windshield wiper blades.

Driver Side






The distance - A - between tip of wiper lip and the lower edge of the windshield must be 10 mm.

- If necessary, offset the wiper arms to se the wiper blade park position.

Wiper arms, removing, refer to => [ Windshield Wiper Arms ] Windshield Wiper Arms.

- Tighten the threaded connection to the specification shown in => [ Windshield Wiper System Overview ] Windshield Wiper System Overview.

Passenger Side






The distance - B - between tip of wiper lip and the lower edge of the windshield must be 17.5 mm.

- If necessary, offset the wiper arms to see the wiper blade park position.

Wiper arms, removing, refer to => [ Windshield Wiper Arms ] Windshield Wiper Arms.

- Tighten the threaded connection to the specification shown in => [ Windshield Wiper System Overview ] Windshield Wiper System Overview.
