Roof Antenna

• The roof antenna on USA and Canada vehicles is available in the following versions: navigation only, telephone only, satellite radio only or navigation, telephone and satellite radio.

• The roof antenna is available in shark fin or 16 volt antenna designs.

• The following procedure is described for the shark fin roof antenna. The procedure is similar for the 16 volt antenna design.

Removal

- Remove the molded headliner.

- Remove nut - 2 -.






- Disengage connectors - arrows -, disconnect them and remove roof antenna.






• Depending on antenna version, there may be up to 3 connectors here.

Connector with violet housing is telephone wire connection.

Connector with blue housing is navigation system wire connection.

The third possibility is a auxiliary heater remote control connector.

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal.

• When inserting roof antenna, ensure gasket is properly seated. Both guide protrusions of gasket must be seated in the appropriate holes - arrows - in antenna base.






• When inserting roof antenna, make sure antenna wires - 1 - are routed correctly through the wire pass-through in the nut - 2 -.
