Wheel Bearing Assembly Overview
1 Wheel Bearing Housing (3-point mount) - FS III Brake
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Wheel Bearing Housing ] Wheel Bearing Housing
• With integrated brake carrier
• If a wheel bearing housing is replaced, vehicle must then be aligned, refer to => [ Vehicle Alignment Procedure Overview ] Vehicle Alignment Procedure Overview.
2 Wheel Hub with Wheel Bearing (3-point mount) - FS III Brake
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Wheel Bearing Unit, 3-Point Mount ] Wheel Bearing Unit, 3-Point Mount
• Sensor ring for ABS is installed in wheel hub
3 Suspension Strut
4 Socket Head Bolt
• Bolt point must face in direction of travel
5 Left Front ABS Wheel Speed Sensor (G47)/Right Front ABS Wheel Speed Sensor (G45)
• Before inserting wheel speed sensor, clean inner surface of bore hole and coat with securing grease (G 000 650)
6 Hex Socket Head Bolt
• 8 Nm
7 Tie Rod End
8 Cover Plate
9 Bolt
• 10 Nm
10 Nut
• M12 x 1.5
• 20 Nm plus an additional 90° turn
• Self-locking
• Always replace after removal
11 Wheel Bearing Housing (4-point mount) - FS III Brake

• With integrated brake carrier

12 Internally Vented Brake Disc
13 Bolt
• Always replace after removal
• Hex head bolt = 200 Nm plus an additional 180° turn
• Twelve-point bolt = 70 Nm plus an additional 90° turn
• M16 x 1.5 x 80
Vehicle must not be standing on its wheels when loosening or tightening
14 Bolt
15 Wheel Hub with Wheel Bearing (4-point mount)
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Wheel Bearing Unit, 4-Point Mount ] Wheel Bearing Unit, 4-Point Mount
• Sensor ring for ABS is installed in wheel hub
• Various versions
16 Wheel Bearing Housing (4-point mount) - FN3 Brake
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Wheel Bearing Housing ] Wheel Bearing Housing
• with bolted brake carrier
• If a wheel bearing housing is replaced, vehicle must then be aligned, refer to => [ Vehicle Alignment Procedure Overview ] Vehicle Alignment Procedure Overview.
17 Socket Head Bolt
• Always replace after removal
• 70 Nm plus an additional 90° turn
• M12 x 1.5 x 45
18 Drive Axle

19 Nut
• Always replace after removal
• 70 Nm plus an additional 90° turn
• M12 x 1.5
