Evaporative Emission Canister






Evaporative Emission Canister

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Engine/Transmission Jack (V.A.G 1383A)

Removing

- Remove center and rear mufflers.

- Remove the heat shield fasteners - arrows - and shield.





- For supporting purposes, place (V.A.G 1383A) under rear subframe.

- Loosen mounting bolts of rear subframe - arrows - and unscrew them approximately 20 mm.





- Slowly lower rear subframe using (V.A.G 1383A).

- Disconnect vent lines - A - by pressing release button.





- Remove bolts - B -.

- Release retaining straps - A - using a screwdriver. Rotate Evaporative Emission (EVAP) canister approximately 90° clockwise - B - and remove EVAP canister.





Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal, noting the following:

- Connect ventilation lines until they engage audibly.

- Install rear subframe.
