It is not possible to check gear oil level by removing oil filler plug.





Due to the angle of the engine/transmission assembly, the lower edge of the filler hole - arrow 1 - is located below the oil level - arrow 2 -.





Gear oil level can only be checked if gear oil is drained completely and then filled up again:

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)

• Standard hose (approximately 600 mm long, outer circumference 10 mm) with funnel
