Mounting Bracket

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Hose clamps up to 25 mm dia. (3094)

• Pliers for spring-type clamps (VAS 5024A)

Removing

• Before disconnecting the battery, retrieve the coding for radio devices with anti-theft coding.

• Disconnect battery ground (GND) cable with ignition switched off.

• When reconnecting battery

• Lubricate the various bearing and contact surfaces with grease (G 000 450 02).

- Check whether a coded radio is installed. If this is the case obtain anti-theft coding.

- Disconnect battery ground (GND) cable with ignition switched off.

- Remove battery

• During the following procedures, make sure that no brake fluid comes into contact with longitudinal member or with transmission. If this happens, these areas must be cleaned thoroughly.

- Place a lint free cloth under master cylinder.

- Use Hose clamps (3094) to clamp supply hose to master cylinder.





- Remove spring clamp - 3 - using spring clamp pliers (VAS 5024A) and disconnect supply hose from master cylinder.





- Disengage securing clip - 2 - using a screwdriver and pull out of master cylinder until it stops.

- Disconnect hose/line assembly - 1 - from master cylinder and plug it.

- Unclip clutch position sensor (G476) on master cylinder - arrow - and remove with electrical harness connector - 4 - connected.

• When working in floor area, cover the carpet with a cloth to protect against any leaking brake fluid.

- Remove cover in driver's side foot well and left driver's side trim

- Remove crash brace - 1 - in front of clutch pedal, remove nuts - 2 -.





- Remove nuts - 2 -.





- Remove mounting bracket - 1 -.

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

• Replace self locking nuts.

• Always replace seals.

• Replace hose clamps.

- Install crash brace - 1 - in front of clutch pedal, screw on and tighten nuts - 2 -.





- Install cover in driver's side foot well and left driver's side trim

- Press hose/line assembly - 1 - with new O-ring - 2 - into connection of master cylinder - 4 - until securing clip - 3 - audibly engages.





- Check by pulling hose/line assembly.

- Bleed clutch system --> [ Clutch System Bleeding ] Clutch System Bleeding.

- Install battery carrier and battery -->.

- Connect battery and follow work procedures after connecting battery.
