Clutch Pedal






Clutch Pedal

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Pliers (T10005)

Assembly tool (T10178)

Removing

Before disconnecting the battery, retrieve the coding for radio devices with anti-theft coding.

Disconnect battery ground (GND) cable with ignition switched off.

When reconnecting battery

Lubricate the various bearing and contact surfaces with grease (G 000 450 02).

- Slide driver's seat as far to the rear as possible and set steering wheel to the highest position.

- Remove cover in driver's side foot well and left driver's side trim

- Remove crash brace - 1 - in front of clutch pedal, to do so remove nuts - 2 -.





- Remove clutch pedal - 1 - from mounting bracket - 3 -, by removing nut - 2 - and pull out bolt - 5 -.





- Pivot clutch pedal forward slightly and remove over-center spring - 4 - from mounting bracket.

- Release securing clip of master cylinder actuator rod using pliers (T10005).





- Remove clutch pedal.

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

Replace self locking nut.

- Attach securing clip - 2 - to actuator rod - 1 - of master cylinder.





- Press securing clip - 2 - into recess of clutch pedal - 3 - until it engages audibly.

- Insert over-center spring - 2 - from above into mounting bracket and hold spring end in installation position using assembly tool (T10178).





- Insert clutch pedal pivot pin - 1 - into mounting cup of over-center spring.

- Depress clutch pedal slightly, push bolt through and tighten self locking nut.

- Install crash brace - 1 - in front of clutch pedal, install and tighten nuts - 2 -.





- Install cover in driver's side foot well and left driver's side trim
