Control Arm Bushing: Service and Repair
Control Arm Bushing
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Assembly tool (T10219)
• Thrust plate (VW 402)
• Punch (VW 411)
Removing
- Press out the bushings as depicted in the illustration.

Installing
The bushing must be installed at an angle to prevent damaging it when pressing in. The bushing settles straight while pressing in.
- Apply installation lubricant (G 294 421 A1) onto the outside of the bushing.
- Attach the bushing at an angle (in direction of the control arm), lip - arrow - must slip into opening as depicted in illustration.

- Press the bushing in until the core - 1 - and the opening of the control arm - 2 - are at the same height.
- Press back the bearing slightly in the control arm.
