Axial Play, Checking

- Pull the lower control arm downward firmly in - direction of arrow - and push back up again.





Radial Clearance, Checking

- Push wheel in and out firmly at the bottom in - direction of arrow -.





• There should not be any noticeable or visible play in either of the two checks.

• Observe the lower ball joint while performing the checks.

• Make allowance for any wheel bearing play or play in the strut mounting at the top.

• Check the rubber boot for damage, replace the lower ball joint, if necessary.
