Steering Column Strut

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque wrench 5-50 Nm (VAG 1331)

Removing

- Remove the plenum chamber bulkhead.

- Remove the bolt - arrow - in the plenum chamber.





- Remove the steering column. Refer to --> [ Steering Column ] Steering Column.

- Remove the bolts - 1 -.





- Remove the bolt - 2 - and remove the steering column strut - 3 -.

Installing

- Secure steering column strut to body, tighten the bolt - arrow - to do so.





- Install the mounting bolt - 2 - and tighten.





- Tighten the bolts - 1 - for the strut - 3 -.

- Install the steering column. Refer to --> [ Steering Column ] Steering Column.

- Install the plenum chamber bulkhead.

- Perform a basic setting on the steering angle sensor using the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B).
