Auxiliary Fuel Pump
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1331)
• Spring-type clip pliers (VAS 6362)
CAUTION!

• Observe rules for cleanliness --> [ Clean Working Conditions ] Clean Working Conditions.
Always follow these instructions before and during work.
Removing
- Disconnect connector - 2 - from the exhaust pressure sensor 1 - 1 -.
- Remove bolt - 4 - and bracket - 3 - with the exhaust pressure sensor 1 - 1 - in direction of - arrow - and lay them aside (control wires remain connected).
- Disconnect connector - 1 - from auxiliary fuel pump.
- Unclip fuel hoses - 2 and 3 - from the bracket.
- Loosen hose clip with hose clip pliers (VAS 6362) and remove fuel supply line --> [ 6 Fuel Supply Line ] Fuel Filter Assembly Overview on the fuel filter.
- Disconnect connector from fuel temperature sensor - arrow -.
- Loosen hose clip - 1 - with hose clip pliers (VAS 6362) and remove fuel supply line at high pressure fuel pump.
- Seal lines so that fuel system is not contaminated by dirt etc.
- Remove bolts - arrows - and auxiliary fuel pump.
Installing
Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:
• Route fuel hoses kink-free.
• Ensure fuel hoses are seated securely.
• Do not interchange supply and return lines (the return line is blue or has a blue marking, the supply line is white or has a white marking).
• Clip fuel and coolant hoses back into the retainers.
Tightening specifications:
• Bolt for exhaust pressure sensor 1 bracket: 8 Nm
• Bolts for auxiliary fuel pump: 20 Nm
