Radiator: Service and Repair

Radiator

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Refractometer (T10007)

• Torque Wrench (V.A.G 1783)

• Drip tray for workshop crane (VAS 6208)

Removing

- Move lock carrier into service position. Lock Carrier, Service Position

- Drain coolant. Refer to --> [ Cooling System, Draining and Filling ] [1][2]Cooling System, Draining and Filling.

- Remove upper coolant hose clip and remove coolant hose from radiator quick-release coupling.

- Disconnect coolant fan connector.

- Remove radiator bolts --> [ (item 10) 5 Nm ] [1][2]Cooling System Components Assembly Overview, Body Side and remove radiator upward with the coolant fan.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

• Radiator bolt tightening specifications, refer to --> [ 10, 5 Nm ] [1][2]Cooling System Components Assembly Overview, Body Side.

- Fill with coolant. Refer to --> [ Cooling System, Draining and Filling ] [1][2]Cooling System, Draining and Filling.
