Muffler Overview
1 Securing Strap
• For the fuel tank.
2 Suspended Mount
• Replace if damaged.
3 Bolt
• 23 Nm
• Always replace
4 Retaining Loop
• Replace if damaged
5 Center Muffler
• Originally a unit with the rear muffler.
• For repairs, replace each separately.
• Exhaust system, separating and connecting. Refer to => [ Exhaust System, Separating and Connecting ] Exhaust System, Separating and Connecting.
• Align the exhaust system free of stress. Refer to => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Exhaust System, Installing.
• Exhaust system, checking for leaks. Refer to => [ Exhaust System, Checking for Leaks ] Testing and Inspection.
6 Bolt/Nut
• 23 Nm
7 Suspended Mount
• Replace if damaged.
8 Rear Muffler
• Original equipment as one unit with the center muffler.
• For repairs, replace each separately.
• Exhaust system, separating and connecting. Refer to => [ Exhaust System, Separating and Connecting ] Exhaust System, Separating and Connecting.
• Align the exhaust system free of stress. Refer to => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Exhaust System, Installing.
• Exhaust system, checking for leaks. Refer to => [ Exhaust System, Checking for Leaks ] Testing and Inspection.
9 Nut
• 23 Nm
10 Repair Clamping Sleeve
• For replacing the center and rear mufflers and/or the exhaust pipe and rear muffler individually.
• Note the installed position, refer to => [ Repair Clamping Sleeve Installed Position ].
• Exhaust system, separating and connecting. Refer to => [ Exhaust System, Separating and Connecting ] Exhaust System, Separating and Connecting.
• Align the exhaust system free of stress. Refer to => [ Exhaust System, Installing ] Exhaust System, Installing.
• Tighten the nuts evenly.
11 Tunnel Bridge
Repair Clamping Sleeve Installed Position
- When installing the clamping sleeve, ensure that the bolt end - arrow - does not project beyond the lower edge of the clamping sleeve:
• Threaded connection points toward the right.
• Tighten the threaded connections equally to 23 Nm.
