Intake Manifold and Attachments Overview
• Follow the safety precautions when working on the diesel direct injection system. Refer to => [ Safety Precautions ] Diesel Fuel Injection.
• Observe the rules for cleanliness. Refer to => [ Clean Working Conditions ] Diesel Fuel Injection.
Always follow these instructions before and during work.
1 Intake Manifold
• With the intake flap motor (V157).
• With intake air swirl optimization.
• Must not be disassembled.
• Removing and installing, refer to => [ Intake Manifold ] Intake Manifold.
2 Bolt
• 8 Nm
3 Gasket
• Always replace
4 Seal
• Always replace
5 Connecting Pipe
Make sure the connecting pipe decoupling element does not bend or stretch. Cracks could develop.
• Always replace
• Install without tension
6 Bolt
• 20 Nm
• Use the socket insert XZN 10 (T10385) for loosening and tightening.
7 Gasket
• Always replace
8 Bolt
• 8 Nm
9 Throttle Valve Control Module (J338)
• Remove to remove the intake manifold => [ Intake Manifold ] Intake Manifold.
10 Bolt
• 8 Nm
• Remove and install using the socket XZN 8 (T40159).
11 Bolt
• 8 Nm
• Remove and install using the socket XZN 8 (T40159).
12 Oil Dipstick
• Check the engine oil level. Refer to => [ Engine Oil Level, Checking ] Testing and Inspection.
13 Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Vacuum Regulator Solenoid Valve (N18)
• With the EGR potentiometer (G212).
