Multi-Plate Clutch, Preparing for Installation

Multi-Plate Clutch as a Replacement Part





1 Multi-Plate Clutch

Cover on a new clutch is secured with circlip.

2 Ten Securing Rings

The rings are of varying thicknesses. They are staggered in 0.1 mm increments.

Refer to the notes regarding this in => [ Clutch, Installing and Adjusting ] Clutch, Installing and Adjusting.

3 Cover (End Cover)

Make sure that inner sealing lip is not damaged, refer to => [ Clutch Cover, Installing ] Clutch Cover, Installing. A bushing is inserted by the manufacturer to protect the sealing lips. Leave this bushing in the cover.

4 Circlip

For the cover.

- Press on the clutch cover while removing the clutch.





Clutch cap and lamella carrier lying beneath should be prevented from slipping out of inner discs.

- Make sure the 4 oil seals are seated properly.





Ends of the seals should not overlap one another.

- Gently turn the seals once. They must move freely and must not stick.

Important! Clutch cover location





- See if there is a mark on the clutch - arrow -.

- If there is no mark, then apply a color identification. Cover tab should realign with this marked position later.

Set down clutch so that it cannot fall over.
