Oil System Capacity and Specification

Replace the engine oil.

Checking the Oil Level:

• The oil level must not exceed the MAX mark - danger of damaging the catalytic converter.

Test Conditions

• Engine oil temperature a minimum of 60 degrees C (140 degrees F).

• Vehicle in a level position.

• After stopping the engine, wait a few minutes to allow oil to flow back into oil pan.

Test Sequence

- Pull out the oil dipstick, wipe it off with a clean cloth and insert it all the way.

- Withdraw the dipstick again and check the oil level.

Range of marks on the dipstick:





a Oil must not be added.
b Oil may be topped off.
c Oil must be added.

• Oil level must not exceed the Max. mark - arrow 1 - and must not fall short of the Min. mark - arrow 2 -.
