Oil Cooler: Service and Repair






Oil Cooler

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Drip Tray for VAS 6100 (VAS 6208)

Removing


Risk of scalding due to hot steam and hot coolant.

When the engine is warm the cooling system is under pressure.

Reduce pressure by covering the coolant expansion tank cap with a cloth and carefully opening.

- Drain the coolant. Refer to => [ Draining and Filling ] Procedures.

- Remove the accessory bracket. Refer to => [ Accessory Bracket ] Service and Repair.

- Remove the bolts - 4 and 5 - and remove the oil cooler - 3 - together with the seal - 2 -.





Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal, noting the following:

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Oil Filter, Cooler and Pressure Switch Overview ] Service and Repair.

Always replace gaskets and seals.

Secure all hose connections with hose clamps appropriate for the model. Refer to the Parts Catalog.

- Install the oil cooler - 3 - with a new seal - 2 -.
