Engine and Transmission Mounts Overview
1 Bolt
• Transmission mount bracket to transmission.
• Tightening specifications, refer to one of the following:
• GTI, Eos, Passat and CC with a Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG)
• GTI, Eos, Passat and CC with a manual transmission
• Passat and CC with a automatic transmission
2 Bolt
• Strength category 8.8 = 40 Nm + 90 degrees (1/4) additional turn.
• Strength category 10.9 = 50 Nm + 90 degrees (1/4) additional turn.
• Always replace
• Pendulum support to transmission.
• With a manual transmission, only use bolts with a strength category 10.9 if thread inserts such as Heli-Coil are installed. Characteristics: section on the first thread, refer to.
3 Engine Mount Bracket
4 Bolt
• 40 Nm + 180 degrees (1/2) additional turn.
• Always replace
• Engine mount bracket to engine.
5 Engine Mount
6 Bolt
• 40 Nm + 90 degrees (1/4) additional turn
• Always replace
• Engine mount to body.
7 Support
8 Bolt
• 20 Nm + 90 degrees (1/4) additional turn.
• Always replace
• Support to engine mount.
9 Bolt
• 20 Nm + 90 degrees (1/4) additional turn.
• Support to body.
• Replace
10 Bolt
• 40 Nm + 90 degrees (1/4) additional turn.
• Always replace
• Engine mount to body.
11 Bolt
• 60 Nm + 90 degrees (1/4) additional turn.
• Always replace
• Engine mount to engine mount bracket.
12 Pendulum Support
13 Bolt
• 100 Nm + 90 degrees (1/4) additional turn.
• Always replace
• Pendulum support to subframe
• First install the pendulum support bolts - item 2 - to the transmission and then to the subframe.
14 Bolt
• 60 Nm + 90 degrees (1/4) additional turn.
• Always replace
• Transmission mount to transmission mount bracket
15 Bolt
• 40 Nm + 90 degrees (1/4) additional turn.
• Always replace
• Transmission mount to body.
16 Transmission Mount
• The illustration shows the DSG transmission version.
17 Bolt
• Transmission mount bracket to transmission
• Tightening specifications, refer to one of the following:
• GTI, Eos, Passat and CC with a Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG)
• GTI, Eos, Passat and CC with a manual transmission
• Passat and CC with a automatic transmission
18 Transmission Mount Bracket
Section on the First Thread with Thread Insert Installed (Example: Heli-Coil)
