Engine Accessory Bracket: Service and Repair






Accessory Bracket

Removing

- Drain the coolant. Refer to => [ Draining and Filling ] Procedures.

- Remove the ribbed belt. Refer to => [ Ribbed Belt ] Ribbed Belt.

- Remove the charge air pipe from the noise generator, if equipped. Refer to => [ Charge Air Pipe from Noise Generator ] Charge Air Pipe from Noise Generator.

- Remove the generator.

- Disconnect the Air Conditioning (A/C) compressor regulator valve (N280) - 1 - connector.






Risk of injury from refrigerant.

The A/C refrigerant circuit must not be opened.

- Remove the A/C compressor bolts - arrows -.


Risk of damaging coolant lines and hoses.

Do not stretch, kink or bend coolant lines and hoses.

- Tie up the A/C compressor with the refrigerant lines attached to the longitudinal member.

- Remove the bolt - arrow - for the oil dipstick guide tube.





- Remove the bolts - 1 through 5 - and remove the accessory bracket from the coolant pump housing.

Installing

Replace bolts which have been tightened to a torque angle.

Replace the O-rings and seals.

- Lubricate the O-rings - 4 - with coolant additive G12 plus-plus.





- Install the connection - 2 - into the coolant pump housing - 3 -.

- Slide the accessory bracket - 1 - onto the connection - 2 -.

- Mount the accessory bracket and then install the bolt - 4 -.





- Install the rest of the bolts. Tighten the bolts in 3 stages in sequence - 1 through 5 - as follows:






The rest of the installation is basically a reverse of the removal sequence; when doing this, note the following:

Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Ribbed Belt Overview ] Ribbed Belt Overview.

Install the A/C compressor.

Install the generator.
