Clutch Pedal






Clutch Pedal

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Pliers (T10005)

Torque Wrench (5-50 Nm) (V.A.G 1331)

Assembly Tool (T10178)

Removing

- Remove the mounting bracket. Refer to the following:

Eos, refer to => [ Mounting Bracket ] Mounting Bracket.

- Carefully secure the bracket in a vice. Use jaw protectors on the jaws.

- Remove the nut - 2 - and the bolt - 5 - and then remove the clutch pedal - 1 - from the bracket - 3 -.






- Move the clutch pedal foreword and remove the over-center spring - 4 -.

- Release the clutch pedal from the master cylinder using the pliers (T10005).






- Remove the clutch pedal.

Installing

Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal while observing the following:

Replace the self-locking nuts.

- Install the mount - 2 - on the clutch master cylinder actuator rod - 1 -.






- Press the mount into the clutch pedal - 3 - until it engages audibly in the notch in clutch pedal.

- Install the over-center spring - 2 - into the bracket from the top and hold the end of the spring in its installed position using the assembly tool (T10178).






- Insert the clutch pedal pivot pin - 1 - into the mounting area of the over-center spring.

- Press the clutch pedal slightly, push the bolt through and tighten the self-locking nut.

- Install the mounting bracket. Refer to one of the following:

Tightening Specifications
