Transmission Fluid, Checking

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Torque Wrench (5-50 Nm) (V.A.G 1331)

• Triple Square Socket Driver (3357)

- Remove the noise insulation.

- Remove the plug - arrow - for checking the transmission fluid level.






The level is correct when the transmission fluid comes up to the bottom edge of oil filler hole.

- Install the plug - arrow - with a new seal.

- Tighten the plug - arrow - to specification. Refer to => [ Different Versions of the Oil Fill
and Drain Plugs ].

Note the following when filling for the first time:

- Remove the plug - arrow -.

- Add transmission fluid until it reaches the lower edge of the filler hole.

- Install the plug - arrow - with a new seal.

- Tighten the plug - arrow - to specification. Refer to => [ Different Versions of the Oil Fill
and Drain Plugs ].

- Install the noise insulation.

I - Oil filler or drain plug with a multipoint socket head, 45 Nm

II - Oil filler or drain plug with hex socket head, 30 Nm
