Exterior Mirror Entry Lamps

Driver entry lamp in exterior rearview mirror (W52) as well as Front passenger entry lamp in exterior rearview mirror (W53) is installed in housing of left and right exterior mirror.

• The exterior mirror must not be removed to remove and install the entry lamps.

• Removing and installing driver's side lamp and passenger's side lamp is performed in the same manner on both sides and is only described for one side.

Removal

- Switch off ignition, switch off all electrical consumers and remove ignition key.

- Fold exterior mirror - 1 - in - direction of arrow - toward front.






- Remove bolt - 1 -.






- Unclip entry light in - direction of arrow - from exterior mirror and pull it out as far as cable lengths permit.






- Pull socket - 2 - in - direction of arrow - out of housing - 1 - of entry light.






Bulb, Replacing

- Pull plug-in socket lamp - 1 - in - direction of arrow - out of socket - 2 -.






Plug-in socket lamp: 12V, 6 W

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

• After installation, perform a function test of the exterior mirror.
